Registration and Retrieving User name and Password

1. Navigate to the Survey Control home page. There should be a link to register, update, or login into the application. http://www.baltimorecountymd.gov/Agencies/publicworks/engineering/surveycontrol.html

2. Chose the link to log into the application.

3. If you have not registered, you can click on the link to sign up.

4. Fill in your registration information. The yellow fields are required and are marked with ‘<<’.

5. If you do not fill in a required field, a pop-up box will appear next to the missing information. Your cursor should also be refocused to that text box.

6. The database design requires that e-mail addresses and user names to be unique. If you have entered a previously existing e-mail address or user name you will get an error message stating the issue.

7. The application has some built in checks for e-mail vilification. If the entered e-mail address does not pass the checks, you will receive an error message.

8. Once you submit your registration information, you will receive an e-mail containing your auto-generated password.

9. If you have registered but have forgotten your user name, you can select the link to request your user name. This will redirect you to the Request User Name page.

10. First enter your e-mail address and click OK.

11. If your e-mail is not found in the database, you will receive an error message.

12. If you have entered a valid e-mail, your hint question will appear on the screen.

13. Enter the hint answer. If it is incorrect, an error message will appear.

14. If you enter the answer correctly, you will be sent an e-mail containing your user name.

15. If you have forgotten your password, click on the link to request password. You will be redirected to the Request Password page. To retrieve your password follow the same steps as in 10-14.
